Metamyelocytes/100 WBC

Metamyelocytes are very immature white blood cells, normally confined to the bone marrow. If they show up in circulating blood, it means your immune system is under major stress and is pushing out underdeveloped cells to keep up. This can happen during severe infection, inflammation, bone marrow disorders, or intense physiologic stress. It’s a red flag for acute or systemic overload.
