Disclosure: Anabolic Insights publishes this page and has a financial interest in it. Everything about Hims comes from hims.com and its help center, checked October 11, 2026.

Hims does not offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) today: its low-T treatment is compounded enclomiphene, from $99 a month on a 10-month plan paid upfront, after an at-home lab kit. Anabolic Insights offers both TRT and enclomiphene at $99 a month, with venous blood work at a Quest or LabCorp patient service center, the provider visit and follow-up labs included.

The short answer

Choose Hims if you want one big, convenient app for many conditions, an at-home lab kit, and the widest range of ED formats, including chewables and combination products.

Choose Anabolic Insights if you want TRT, if you'd rather pay for enclomiphene month to month instead of prepaying 10 months, or if you want published prices for every dose and tools to track your labs over time.

Testosterone: Hims doesn't offer TRT yet

Hims' testosterone page shows injectable testosterone cypionate and oral Kyzatrex as "Coming in 2026," and its FAQ says: "No, Hims does not currently offer access to TRT injections." Hims' current low-T option is enclomiphene, which works differently.

Our testosterone membership is $99 a month, billed $297 every quarter. It includes starting blood work (total and free testosterone, estradiol, PSA, CBC and CMP), the provider visit, injectable testosterone shipped quarterly if prescribed, and follow-up labs about 12 weeks in, then about every 24 weeks. Medication is prescribed only if a licensed provider decides it's appropriate, with a full refund if you don't qualify. You can upload recent labs instead, and people already on TRT can join. The limit is coverage: 14 states (AL, AZ, CA, CT, FL, IL, MN, MO, MS, NC, NV, OH, PA and TX).

Labs matter here. The Endocrine Society recommends confirming low testosterone with repeat morning fasting total testosterone tests, and recommends against starting testosterone therapy in men planning fertility in the near term (Bhasin et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2018). That second point is the main reason enclomiphene exists as an option.

Enclomiphene: same $99, very different billing

Both companies offer compounded enclomiphene. Compounded enclomiphene is not FDA-approved. It's prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy for an individual patient with a valid prescription.

Hims: the product FAQ says pricing "starts at $99/month for a 10-month plan paid upfront and in full." That's $990 at the start. Hims' own enclomiphene price guide (published January 2026) lists the other options: a 3-month plan at $199 a month, a 5-month plan at $139 a month, and an initial lab kit at $94. Hims' formula adds zinc, vitamins B6 and B12, and L-arginine, and can be combined with tadalafil. Hims checks your levels about three months in.

Anabolic Insights: our enclomiphene membership is $99 a month, billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime. It includes starting labs (FSH, LH, estradiol, and free and total testosterone), the provider visit, medication if prescribed, shipping, and follow-up labs about 8 weeks in, then about every 24 weeks. It's available in 39 states including DC, with a full refund if your provider decides you don't qualify.

What the research shows: in two phase III trials in overweight men with secondary hypogonadism, enclomiphene raised total testosterone, LH and FSH over 16 weeks and kept sperm concentration in the normal range, while testosterone gel reduced sperm production (Kim et al., BJU Int 2016). In a smaller six-week study, men on 25 mg a day averaged 604 ng/dL of total testosterone (Wiehle et al., BJU Int 2013). Results vary, and a provider decides whether it fits your labs and history. For more, read enclomiphene vs TRT and what labs to get before starting enclomiphene.

Labs: at-home kit vs venous draw

Hims uses an at-home kit for its testosterone program. The FAQ says you'll "collect two samples" and ship them the same day, prepaid, to a CLIA-certified lab. Hims also sells the kit on its own as the Men's Core Panel: $69, one-time, 22 markers including total and free testosterone, estradiol, LH, hematocrit, cholesterol markers, vitamin D, B12 and TSH, with results "in about a week." If you return the kit within 30 days, Hims gives a $69 credit toward an eligible purchase.

Separately, Labs by Hims is a broader blood-testing plan at "$349/year." It uses venous draws at Quest: 75+ biomarkers at the first draw and a follow-up draw six months later, available in 49 states and DC. In New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island, Quest bills you directly for the lab work.

Anabolic Insights uses a venous draw at a Quest, LabCorp or BioReference patient service center, with no lab fee and no draw fee. You can buy a panel or build your own:

Option at QuestPriceWhat you get
Basic Panel$9575 biomarkers; testosterone by immunoassay
Complete Men's Panel$23985 biomarkers; free T by dialysis, total T by mass spec, ultrasensitive E2, PSA
Build-your-own TRT check$81Free and total T, ultrasensitive estradiol, CBC, PSA and CMP

The trade-off is real. Hims' kit is more convenient: no appointment, no trip. Our results typically take 7–14 days, depending on the test, which is slower than Hims' "about a week." In exchange, a venous draw lets you choose the method, such as LC/MS testosterone, and add individual tests to any order. If you're weighing the two, read can at-home finger-prick kits replace a lab draw? and immunoassay vs LC/MS testosterone tests.

ED: more formats at Hims, every price published here

Hims has one of the widest ED lineups online. Its ED page lists generic Viagra (sildenafil) "Starting at $22/mo," generic Cialis (tadalafil) "Starting at $24/mo," 3-in-1 Hard Mints "Starting at $30/mo," and "Sex Rx + Testosterone Support" (tadalafil and zinc) "Starting at $35/mo." Its product pages list daily tadalafil "From $40 per month," brand-name Viagra "From $135 per use" and brand-name Cialis at "$958 per month." Hard Mints are compounded and not FDA-approved. The assessment is free and treatment ships free if prescribed, but the exact dose, quantity and price are shown after an online visit.

Our prices are listed for every dose and quantity, with no provider-review fee and free shipping:

Medication30 tablets60 tablets90 tablets
Tadalafil 5 mg$30$58$84
Tadalafil 10 mg$39$72$99
Tadalafil 20 mg$54$89$119
Sildenafil 20 mg$39$49$90
Sildenafil 50 mg$45$60$90

Some Hims starting prices are below ours, so compare the full price for your dose once you see it. Daily low-dose tadalafil is well studied: in a 12-week trial, 84.5% of men on 5 mg once daily reported improved erections, compared with 28.3% on placebo (Porst et al., Eur Urol 2006), and a meta-analysis of six trials found the benefit held over at least six months (Ma et al., Transl Androl Urol 2020). See tadalafil vs sildenafil and daily or as-needed tadalafil.

Provider review and subscriptions

Hims: you fill out an online intake. The consultation may be asynchronous depending on your state, and some states require a video visit. Prescription products require a subscription; you cancel at least 48 hours before your next order, and Hims says refunds aren't assured once the pharmacy has processed an order. Members get unlimited care team messaging.

Anabolic Insights: a licensed provider in the affiliated Clinical Group reviews every medication request. TRT and enclomiphene memberships can be cancelled anytime.

Tracking your results

This is where we focus. Every result goes into trend charts against lab and optimal ranges. You can upload outside LabCorp and most Quest PDFs for free, mark when a medication starts or stops so charts shade that window, and add notes to results. Wearables like Garmin, Oura and Apple Health connect with a membership from $15 a month.

A "Started TRT" protocol overlaid on testosterone charts in the Anabolic Insights dashboard.

Hims shows results in its app, and Labs by Hims adds a Biological Age estimate and an Action Plan. We didn't find a way on Hims' public pages to upload outside lab reports.

Where Hims is the better choice

Hims is a large, established company with a strong product. Choose Hims if:

  • You want one app for many things. Hims covers weight loss, hair, ED, mental health, skin and testosterone support, with one account and 24/7 messaging. It reported nearly 2.9 million subscribers in Q2 2026 (Hims & Hers, August 10, 2026).
  • You want to test at home. The Men's Core Panel kit means no appointment and results in about a week. We don't offer at-home kits.
  • You want more ED formats. Chewables, combination products, premature ejaculation treatment and brand-name Viagra and Cialis are all available. For ED, we sell generic tablets only.
  • You live outside our coverage. Our TRT is in 14 states and our enclomiphene in 39 including DC. Labs by Hims covers 49 states and DC, and Hims' other programs may reach your state.

Where Anabolic Insights is the better choice

Choose Anabolic Insights if:

  • You want TRT. Hims doesn't offer it today.

FAQs

Does Hims offer TRT?

Not as of October 11, 2026. Hims' FAQ says it "does not currently offer access to TRT injections," and its testosterone page lists injectable testosterone cypionate and oral Kyzatrex as "Coming in 2026." Its current low-T treatment is compounded enclomiphene, alone or combined with tadalafil.

How much does Hims enclomiphene cost?

Hims says pricing starts at $99 a month for a 10-month plan paid upfront and in full, which is $990 at the start. Its January 2026 price guide lists $199 a month for a 3-month plan, $139 a month for a 5-month plan, and $94 for the initial lab kit. Anabolic Insights' enclomiphene is $99 a month, billed monthly, with labs included.

Does Hims include lab testing?

Hims requires labs before testosterone treatment and uses an at-home blood collection kit mailed to a CLIA-certified lab. The kit is sold separately as the $69 Men's Core Panel, and Hims' price guide lists the initial lab kit at $94. Labs by Hims is a separate $349-per-year plan with venous draws at Quest.

Is Hims cheaper than Anabolic Insights for ED medication?

It depends on the plan. Hims advertises generic Cialis from $24 a month and generic Viagra from $22 a month, but shows the exact dose and quantity after an online visit. Our prices are listed by dose, for example tadalafil 5 mg at $30 for 30 tablets, with free shipping and no provider-review fee.

Is enclomiphene FDA-approved?

No. Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved, at Hims or at Anabolic Insights. It's prepared by a state-licensed compounding pharmacy for an individual patient with a valid prescription, and is prescribed only if a licensed provider decides it's appropriate.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds?

Hims' FAQ says it "doesn't take FSA or HSA plans as payment at this time." Anabolic Insights is cash-pay, and our itemized receipts may help you substantiate expenses with your HSA or FSA administrator.
