Bilirubin (urinalysis)

Bilirubin is a breakdown product of red blood cells that’s normally cleared by your liver and dumped into bile. It shouldn’t show up in your urine. If it does, it may be a sign that your liver or bile pathways are stressed. It’s not a diagnostic marker, but a flag that something’s off and worth checking deeper.
